Up in the Air

We learned during our home study yesterday that our county is small and generally has few babies who need foster homes, let alone adoptive homes.  The county is pretty good at placing the ones they do get with family members.  As a result, we were told it’s a long shot to expect to adopt even a 2-year-old from this county, since it isn’t even likely we would be able to *foster* an infant/toddler.

Back to square one?  Almost.

The adoption facilitator we know of is willing to work with us, so we will be sending her a family profile as soon as we complete our home study.  We also plan to apply for a funding grant at some point. We hope to complete our home study by spring, so we have some time to breathe and work on the family profile.  Still… it’s all very exciting!
